Ajimeshi Onigiri (Flavored Rice Balls)
What kind of product is Ajimeshi Onigiri?
Launched in in February 2000, this round rice ball series lets you enjoy all kinds of flavored rice.
Reason for Development
In response to requests for easy-to-eat sekihan (red rice with beans) and kayaku gohan (rice mixed with meat and vegetables), we made mixed rice into round rice balls. We initially used names like Mixed Rice Ball, Round Rice Ball, and Directly Wrapped Rice Ball because we shaped stir-fried or seasoned rice into round balls and wrapped them directly in seaweed, but we unified the brand name to Ajimeshi Onigiri in February 2000.
What Makes It Different From Other Onigiri
Ajimeshi Onigiri feature toppings like omelet sheets, bacon, and boiled eggs, or use rice mixed with ingredients such as fried rice or sekihan. This lets you enjoy big, solid toppings together with seasoned rice. The packaging film is color-coded for each item, creating an eye-catchingly colorful variety.
