Expanding Use of Environmentally Friendly Containers

Expanding Use of Environmentally Friendly Containers

We have expanded our range of products that use containers made from recycled materials.

While product containers and packaging play a vital role in protecting the product and displaying ingredients and other information, they often turn to waste after use. At Shinobu Foods, we aim to reduce the use of petrochemical plastics by transitioning to materials mixed with organic resources from renewable sources, such as recycled PET and biomass.

Launch of Paper Packaging for Sandwiches

For some items in our epi mou sandwich series, we have transitioned to bags in which 50% of the surface area has been replaced with paper materials.

Initiatives for Containers Made From Biomass Plastics

Since October 2020, we have adopted containers made with 25% biomass plastic for national brand lunch box items, expanding the product range that uses these containers to 14 items. Biomass plastic (BP) containers are also used for sandwich boxes.
